This year marks the Texas Hispanic Journal of Law & Policy's 2024 Symposium: Elevar / Uplift on topics in immigration law and uplifting Hispanic and Latinx immigrants through law. The Symposium explores the current legal experience of Hispanic and Latinx immigrants from the time they cross the U.S border to their grant of citizenship and beyond. Through panel discussions with legal experts and practicing attorneys, the Symposium panels examine immigration law through the lenses of constitutional law, disability law, and labor and employment law. Professor Apelbaum is a visiting lecturer at the University of Michigan Law School and currently works as an attorney at the Justice Department, and Robert Raben is a former assistant attorney general and the president & founder of the Raben Group.
