Moderated by Campbell Law's Professor E Greggory Wallace, Amy Swearer and Duke's Andrew Willinger will debate gun control policies in the United States. More specifically, they will talk about assault weapon bans, whether there is an originalist perspective on gun control, and potential gun manufacture liability.

The Power and Vital Role of Pennsylvania State Appellate Courts
The American Constitution Society sits down with Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justices Kevin Dougherty and Daniel McCaffery and Pennsylvania Superior Court Judge Maria McLaughlin to discuss the crucial role of state appellate courts in our legal system. Both the unique structure of the Pennsylvania appellate system and the courts' position as the arbiter of important issues of state law will be of primary focus during the event. The judges will lean on their experience and offer a firsthand account into the decision making process of one of the busiest and most important state appellate court systems in the country. Lunch will be served and questions are welcome!
Appellate Advocacy and Government Lawyering
ACS and the Environmental Law & Policy Clinic will be hosting Sarah Harrington, former deputy assistant attorney general of the D.O.J. and current partner at Covington for a lunch talk focused on appellate advocacy and environmental law in WCC 3016 at 12:30. The talk will cover important topics such as recent victories and setbacks in environmental litigation, as well as the potential threats looming for the EPA and other federal or state agency rules in a post-Loper Bright and post-Corner Post world. The talk will also give students insights into careers in appellate work, environmental advocacy, and public service more generally.
