Chambers Visit with Judge Lindsay Jenkins

ACS invites members to join us for an outing to visit Judge Lindsay Jenkins's courtroom while it is in session as she hears several civil and criminal matters. After proceedings finish for the morning, Judge Jenkins will speak privately with members about the proceedings, about her background, and about any career-oriented questions students may have.

ACS is doing a private tour of the Dirksen Courthouse, which hosts the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. We will sit in on court proceedings and then meet Judge Jenkins.

Citizen's United: Fifteen Year later, a Student Guided Roundtable Discussion on Money in Politics

A student focused discussion on how the Citizen's United changed politics in the US. The goal of the event is to talk with students about how Citizen's United changed the United States. 2025 is the 15 year anniversary of the decision, the impact of money in politics is palpable; A billionaire is president, Elon Musk is his closest public advisor. We think this will be a good time for student's to discuss how the Court has weakened the voice of the American people the rich people who have taken our place of primacy in democracy. 

There is no featured speaker, the event will be a student led informational and discussion session. No need to RSVP.

The Warren Court vs. The Roberts Court

Join ACS and Prof. Geoffrey Stone as Prof. Stone compares the Warren and Roberts Courts. In his words: "What is the proper approach to judicial interpretation of constitutional rights? How should the Supreme Court address this challenge? I will compare the Warren Court and the Roberts Court in terms of the very different ways in which they have exercised their constitutional responsibilities."

A nonpartisan examination of key executive orders in litigation signed thus for in the second Trump administration in their impacts on SULC's diverse student population with a panel of SULC Constitutional Law professors. After, a post-event social mixer to discuss what we learned and garner support for action.
