State Constitutions and Lockstepping: A Conversation with State Supreme Court Justices

TBD, Stanford, California

Even when federal courts roll back constitutional rights, state supreme courts can interpret their constitutions more expansively. But many states still “lockstep” with federal readings. Why does this happen, and how should lawyers (and judges) respond?

Join Stanford Law School ACS and the Bay Area Lawyers Chapter for a discussion with state supreme court justices from across the nation. Panelists will include Justice Anita Earls (North Carolina), Justice Mary Yu (Washington), and Justice Melissa Hart (Colorado).

Lunch will be served; RSVP by February 24. A Zoom link will also be sent to all confirmed participants prior to the event.
