ACS Washington, DC: Mega-Mergers and the War on the Poor
Join the Washington, DC Lawyer Chapter of the American Constitution Society, Common Cause, Communications Workers of America, Free Press Action, and the Center for Media Justice for a panel discussion on T-Mobile’s bid to merge with Sprint - and its implications for low-income communities and people of color. If approved, the merger could result in less competition, higher prices, jobs lost, and a widening digital divide. Hear from representatives of Free Press, Common Cause, the Center for Media Justice, Communications Workers of America, and members of Congress on what’s at stake if the FCC approves this merger.
Featuring:
The Honorable Bonnie Watson Coleman, U.S. Representative, 12th District of New Jersey
Hooman Hedayati, Strategic Research Associate for Telecommunications Policy, Communication Workers of America; member, ACS Washington, DC Lawyer Chapter Board of Directors
Erin Shields, National Field Organizer for Internet Rights, Center for Media Justice
