Notre Dame Law School, Biolchini Hall of Law, rm 1130, Notre Dame, Indiana

Join the Notre Dame ACS Student Chapter for a Lunch and Learn with Alvin Velazquez, a professor at Indiana's Maurer School of Law where he specializes in the intersection of labor, bankruptcy law, and corporate law. His scholarship focuses on how organized labor adapts to the changing nature of the economy, and he will be giving a learning session over lunch about the modern labor movement and the legislation that enables or dampens this movement.

Velazquez was an Associate General Counsel at the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), where his practice focused on corporate governance, public sector bankruptcy, and emerging technologies. During his career at SEIU, Alvin served as chair of the Unsecured Creditors Committee during the bankruptcy process of the Puerto Rico government.
