American Constitution Society Announces New Board of Directors Members

Washington, DC — The American Constitution Society (ACS) today announced the selection of two new members of its board of directors. The new members include:
- Hayley Penan, a Deputy Attorney General with the California Attorney General’s Office who investigates and litigates reproductive justice and health privacy issues.
- Kaisa Goodman, a rising third year law student at Stanford Law School.
“I am honored to welcome these outstanding leaders to serve on our board,” said Roscoe Jones Jr., chair of the ACS Board of Directors. “The entire organization, as well as our student and lawyer networks, will benefit greatly from their leadership.”
Prior to joining the Office of the California Attorney General, Penan was Deputy Legislative Counsel for the State of California Office of Legislative Counsel and Staff Attorney for the National Health Law Program. She is also a Fellow for the American Bar Foundation and has held various leadership positions with the American Bar Association.
Penan has a law degree from University of California, Irvine School of Law, a master’s in public health policy from Harvard University, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
Goodman was co-president of the Stanford Law ACS Chapter and is an ACS Next Generation Leader. She is currently a law clerk with the union-side labor law firm McCracken, Stemerman & Holsberry LLP and also sits on the board of the Eugene V. Debs Foundation. Prior to law school, Goodman lived in Bloomington, Ind., serving in a variety of roles including the City's public engagement director, mayor's chief of staff, executive director for the Monroe County Democratic Party, and a union steward at her workplace for UFCW Local 700. She has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental and Sustainability Studies from Indiana University.
