The 11th Circuit and Emory

Join the American Constitution Society for a conversation with two esteemed members of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals: Judge Nancy Abudu and Judge Beverly Martin. The conversation will be on Wednesday, March 20 at 12:15PM in Room 5B. The judges will discuss their paths to the bench, the challenges of the job, and how Emory students can get involved with the 11th Circuit. This is a great opportunity to hear from two judges of a federal appeals court! Lunch will be provided.

Careers Office Hours for 1L Reps

Our OCI/careers office hours event will be tomorrow, March 20 from 10:30 am -1:30 pm in the journal suite conference room (straight-ahead when you enter the library). This is a 1L reps + friends event so bring whomever you'd like. There will be some light formal Q&A at the beginning but it should be a fairly casual drop-in event to come and chat with the 2Ls and 3Ls about anything on your mind about the process. There will be Dunkin.

New York Times Co. v. Sullivan in the Modern Age

Join ACS, CSEL, and JSEL for a panel discussion reflecting on the 60th anniversary of the NYT Co. v. Sullivan Decision, which heightened the standard to prove defamation for public-figure plaintiffs. Speakers include Meryl Governski, a Partner at Wilkie, Farr, & Gallagher, who recently helped win a $148 million judgment against Rudy Giuliani for his defamation of Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, and David McCraw, General Counsel at the New York Times.
