The San Diego Chapter invite you to our final event of 2024! Join our newly elected Executive Board for 2024-2025 to socialize with past, present, and future leaders of the progressive mission in San Diego! At this event, we will celebrate our successes this year, discuss next year's plan, and a chance to enjoy great company. All are welcome and we hope to see you soon!
This event is a studying session for finals. Students who are involved with the local ACS chapter can join to study and get helpful tips to do well on the exams starting on Sunday, December 8th. It is also a final socializing event for ACS members given that afterwards will be busy due to finals season.
Take a break from the books and join ACS for a relaxed, informal study break on Thursday, December 5th from 2-4pm. Reconnect with classmates, unwind, and recharge with snacks and good conversation. It’s the perfect chance to de-stress, meet fellow law students, and learn more about ACS, our mission, and ways to get involved in shaping progressive legal discussions on campus and beyond. Plus, if you’re a 1L, keep an eye out—applications for 1L Rep positions will be sent out during winter break! All are welcome—stop by and join us!
December 5, 2024 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm PST @ SLS: Russo Commons – Student Law Lounge
UChicago Law alumnus and Former Judge David Tatel of the D.C. Circuit will be coming to speak to ACS about his career in law, his time on the bench, and his new book.
Please join the ACS Northeast Ohio Chapter for a virtual post-election townhall regarding prospects for progressive change and what we can do to help rebuild progressive momentum at the state and local level. Under lockstep conservative governance for much of the last three decades, Ohio has declined in education (35th out of 50 states), health (47th in health care value), and population growth (48th). The question is: what we can do to turn this around?
During the townhall, we will discuss:
• The results of the 2024 election in Ohio at the state and local levels and what those results portend for the next 2 – 4 years.
• Gerrymandering and the corporate capture of our state and local institutions.
• Bright spots across the state.
• Opportunities for progress – how getting involved at the state and local level can make a massive difference and how to get involved.
