Rachel E. Barkow, the Charles Seligson Professor of Law and Faculty Director of the Zimroth Center on the Administration of Criminal Law at NYU School of Law, will be discussing her new book, “Justice Abandoned: How the Supreme Court Ignored the Constitution and Enabled Mass Incarceration.” The book explores the Supreme Court's role in fostering mass incarceration by wrongly deciding a series of cases that flouted constitutional protections.

Guest speaker Jordan Pollock will present about recent executive orders, federal legislation, Texas's response, Dallas's response, and what all of it means for undocumented individuals accused of crimes (and specifically what the Dallas County Public Defender's office is doing to protect and advise its clients). There will be a Q&A session at the end of the presentation.
