Event with ACS Hoosier Lawyer Chapter. Event will feature special guests from Indiana's progressive legal community as they discuss the importance of building a movement that strengthens democracy, upholds the rule of law, and ensures equality for all.

This kick-off event will allow networking among attorneys, law students, and advocates across Indiana.

SCOTUS Review

Each fall, our organization hosts SCOTUS Review with Professor Virelli, a Constitutional Law professor at Stetson Law and one of our Advisors. This event features a discussion of current Supreme Court decisions, administrative law, and other constitutional topics. Professor Virelli reviews the latest cases, leads an in-depth conversation with students, and answers questions during a Q&A session.

ACS Chicago: The Black Tax with Andrew Kahrl and Tonika Lewis Johnson

Please join the ACS Chicago Lawyer Chapter in partnership with The National Public Housing Museum and the Cook County Assessor's Office present historian Andrew W. Kahrland author of The Black Tax 150 Years of Theft, Exploitation, and Dispossession in America artist Tonika Lewis Johnson, co-author of Don't Go: Stories of Segregation and How to Disrupt It, in a conversation on the history of racist real estate practices and their lasting impact on Black communities. Highlighting land sale contracts, overtaxation, and the sale of tax debts, they will explore how these systems stripped families of wealth while also lifting up the stories of activists who fought back--and the lessons their struggles hold for today.
