William & Mary's 2nd Annual John Marshall Day
Please join William & Mary's Legal History Society and American Constitution Society student chapter to celebrate the 225th anniversary of John Marshall being sworn in as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court! As early as 1901, the ABA recognized February 4th as "John Marshall Day" and the students at William & Mary Law School continue to do so today. The Great Chief Justice is the namesake of William & Mary's Marshall-Wythe School of Law, as well as its most famous alum. In observance of this milestone anniversary, LHS and ACS will be hosting a fantastic panel of Marshall experts to discuss his legacy and his impact on the legal and governmental fields in the 21st Century.
Our panelists include Senior Justice William Mims (Supreme Court of Virginia), Professor Kevin C. Walsh (Catholic University Columbus Law School), and Historian Mark Greenough (Marshall Interpreter).
The event will be broadcast over zoom for anyone who cannot attend in person.
