What's on the California Ballot this time?

Zoom

California has 14 state ballot measures on the November 2026 ballot--the most since 2016. Covering topics as varied as environmental review of development projects, voter identification, and the so-called Billionaire's Tax, Californians have many important issues on the ballot. Are you confused by any of the measures? Not sure what happens if Propositions 40, 41, and 42 all pass? Join the Bay Area Lawyer Chapter, the Los Angeles Lawyer Chapter, the San Diego Lawyer Chapter, the Santa Clara Student Chapter, the UCLA Law Student Chapter, and the USC Gould Student Chapter in a discussion with leading experts covering what the measures will do, some of the backstage politics, and what happens if some of the conflicting measures pass.

Panelists:

  • Darien Shanske, Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law, UC Davis School of Law
  • Angélica Salceda, Director, Democracy, Speech, & Technology Project, ACLU of Northern California
  • Eric Biber, Edward C. Halbach Jr. Professor of Law, UC Berkeley School of Law

Moderated by: Mary Hanna-Weir, Lead Deputy County Counsel, County of Santa Clara
