The Importance of Contextualism in Understanding the Constitution

Please join the Columbia ACS student chapter and the Columbia Law Women’s Association for a conversation with Judge Diane Wood, former Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and Professor Jessica Bulman-Pozen on the role of "contextualism" in understanding the U.S. Constitution as a progressive document.

As an eminent scholar and jurist, Judge Wood will discuss the foundations of dynamic constitutional interpretation in the founding era, and how she has employed this philosophy in her own work.
