Texas Tech University School of Law - NAACP LDF Poll Monitor Training

Texas Tech School of Law, Lubbock, TX

Texas Tech University School of Law ACS, in partnership with HLSA, BLSA, APALSA, OUTLaw, ILA, CLA, and OWLS, will host the NAACP Legal Defense Fund for a nonpartisan elections information session and poll monitor training. Students will learn about the role of nonpartisan poll monitors, including how they support voters and document issues that may arise at polling locations, such as long lines, delayed openings, voter intimidation, misinformation, and other voting-related concerns.

Following the training, students will have the opportunity to sign up to volunteer as poll monitors during early voting and/or on Election Day. Students who volunteer may earn law-related pro bono hours for their time spent poll monitoring, as well as one additional law-related pro bono hour for attending the training, provided they subsequently volunteer as a poll monitor. The event is open to Texas Tech Law students, no RSVP is required, and lunch from McAlister’s will be provided.
