Texas Law - Flock Cameras: Who's Watching and Is It Legal?

Townes Hall, Austin, Texas

Join the Texas Law ACS Student Chapter for a panel of professors and practitioners discussing the deployment of Flock cameras, which enable law enforcement agencies to use AI to monitor the movement of vehicles across participating jurisdictions. The goal of the event is to better understand how this novel technology affects the criminal justice system and whether its use violates constitutional and statutory privacy rights.

The confirmed panelists include Jeffrey Rowes, Senior Attorney at the Institute for Justice, Adam Klein, Senior Lecturer at Texas Law (who specializes in surveillance technology), and Mackenzie Rhine, a Texas Law Postgraduate Public Interest fellow and digital-rights attorney. The panel will be moderated by an ACS board member. After taking pre-written questions from the moderator, the panelists will take questions from the audience.

Lunch will be provided. Attendees will be asked to sign-in at the event.
