Symposium: The Jurisprudence of Justice Anthony M. Kennedy
On Friday February 1, 2019, U.C. Hastings and its flagship law journal will sponsor an all-day symposium on its campus in San Francisco on the Jurisprudence of Justice Kennedy. The symposium will feature a conversation with the Justice and several of his former law clerks.
The symposium will include presentations addressing:
Justice Kennedy’s impact on First Amendment doctrine and issues;
Due Process rights, including LGBT rights and same-sex discrimination.
The overall impact of Justice Kennedy’s judicial work on the U.S. Supreme Court as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and on American law generally.

Although we will have space for additional guests during the afternoon portion of the symposium, the event is sold out for the conversation with Justice Kennedy. We will be live-streaming the conversation in a classroom on campus as overflow. We welcome members of the Hastings community to join us at 9:30am in Room A in 198 McAllister St. to view the live stream. Unfortunately we are not able to broadcast outside the school.
