States and the Making of American Constitutional Law

Moritz College of Law Saxbe Auditorium

ACS and the Federalist Society welcome Judge Jeffrey Sutton of the 6th Circuit and Justice Judith L. French of the Ohio State Supreme Court. The conversation was centered around Sutton's book, "51 Imperfect Solutions: States and the Making of American Constitutional Law." In his book he argues that American constitutional law should account for the role of the state courts and state constitutions, together with federal courts and the federal constitution, to preserve individual liberties.
