Speaker bio:

Senator Jones was the first Democrat to have represented Alabama in the U.S. Senate in 20 years and is currently the only statewide elected Democrat in Alabama. He served as a U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama from 1997 to 2001, during which he successfully prosecuted two KKK members for the 1963 Birmingham church bombing that killed four African-American girls and indicted domestic terrorist Eric Rudolph.
