Introduction to the Law and Political Economy with Sarang Shah

Zoom

Please join the SLS ACS Student Chapter for a lunch talk about the emerging field of Law and Political Economy. LPE is a network of scholars, practitioners, and students advancing a new paradigm of thought in legal academia, rooted in the insight that politics and the economy cannot be separated and that both are constructed in essential respects by law. LPE seeks to reverse developments in the law that have exacerbated inequality by supporting scholarly work that maps these developments and proposes new ways to democratize our political economy and build a more just, equal, and sustainable future. Read more about LPE and the LPE Project here. And if you’re interested in learning about LPE at SLS or helping to launch our chapter, please fill out this form.

This event will be led by Sarang Shah, a student editor of and contributor to the LPE Project’s blog and a 3L at Berkeley Law School. Sarang’s writing focuses on antitrust and other areas where law meets economics as well as theories of sovereignty and democracy. Sarang will lead us through the basic tenets of LPE thinking as well as how LPE is pushing legal academic thought forward.
