Gavel Gap: Judge Pamela Chen
Join Cornell Law’s ACS chapter for our annual Gavel Gap Lecture. The Gavel Gap Lecture highlights the fact that there is a lower composition of minority identities on the bench than exists in the general population. ACS calls this gap the Gavel Gap. This year, Cornell is proud to host Judge Pamela Chen from the Eastern District of New York. Judge Chen was nominated to the Court by President Obama and is the first Asian, lesbian, woman to serve on the federal bench. Judge Chen will speak about her identities and how they have impacted her journey to and time on the court. The Lecture will be followed by a student-led Q&A.
