Driving While Brown Book Discussion with Los Abogados

Arizona State

Please join ACS, Los Abogados, and the Chicano/Latino Law Student Association for a panel discussion about the history of former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's immigration enforcement that led to the landmark civil rights racial profiling lawsuit against him.

The panel will feature local attorneys and activists who worked tirelessly to reform the unconstitutional policing and racial profiling that occurred during Arpaio's time in office. It will begin with a presentation by journalists Jude Joffe-Block and Terry Greene Sterling, who recently co-authored a book that chronicles this history, Driving While Brown: Sheriff Joe Arpaio versus the Latino Resistance. Their book will be for sale at the event and they will be available to sign books at the end of the panel.

The panel will take place in the Great Hall at ASU Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law (111 East Taylor Street Phoenix, AZ 85004) from 5:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday November 9th, 2021. We ask that everyone wear a mask while inside the auditorium.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend at MaricopaCountyBattles@gmail.com
