Dr. Jennifer Carlson discussing Gun rights/violence prevention through a sociological lens

Dr. Jennifer Carlson, of the University of Arizona Sociology and Government/Public Policy departments will be discussing her sociological research examining the intersection of gun rights, politics, and violence prevention. Dr. Carlson is a 2022 MacArthur Fellow and has authored several books including Citizen-Protectors: The Everyday Politics of Guns in an Age of Decline (2015, Oxford University Press), Policing the Second Amendment: Guns, Public Law Enforcement and the Politics of Race (2020, Princeton University Press), and Merchants of the Right: Gun Sellers and the Crisis of Democracy (Forthcoming 2023, Princeton University Press).
