Civil Rights Litigation Talk

University of Michigan; Jeffries Hall 1020, Ann Arbor, MI

Join Judge Carlton Reeves of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi and Professor Margo Schlanger for a lunch talk on prison litigation. Judge Reeves served on the Mississippi Supreme Court prior to his appointment to the federal bench by President Barack Obama in 2010. In 2015, Judge Reeves ruled that the Mississippi Department of Corrections was violating the Eighth Amendment rights of prisoners by forcing inmates at one private prison to live in unsafe and violent conditions. Come ask Judge Reeves and Professor Schlanger about that case and others.
