ACS Iowa: Shifting the Balance of Power

Join The Harkin Institute for Public Policy & Citizen Engagement at Drake University, University of Iowa Labor Center, Iowa Federation of Labor, and ACS Iowa Lawyer Chapter for a discusion on the value unions provide for communities and how organizing efforts are reshaping workplaces in Iowa and across the U.S.

Labor expert Heidi Shierholz will deliver the keynote speech. The event will also feature remarks from Professor Colin Gordon, workers who recently organized a new union at General Mills in Cedar Rapids, student leaders of the Union of Grinnell Student Dining Workers, northwest Iowa representatives of the Iowa State Education Association, and a striking construction worker affiliated with the Tri-State Workers Coalition.
