ACS Chicago: "One Person, No Vote" with Carol Anderson
Join the ACS Chicago Lawyer Chapter and the Cook County Bar Association for a discussion with Professor Carol Anderson regarding her book, One Person No Vote: How Voter Suppression is Destroying our Democracy.
Anderson examines the rollbacks to African American voting rights since the 2013 U.S. Supreme Court decision Shelby County v. Holder. First detailing the history of voter suppression tactics - including photo ID, requirements, gerrymandering and poll closures - Anderson also discusses activist and legal efforts to expand the right to vote.
