A Discussion on Progressive Prosecution with Rachael Rollins

Austin 101, Cambridge, Massachusetts

ACS and WLA (Women's Law Association) invite you to join us for a conversation with DA Rachael Rollins on the idea of progressive prosecution and how some prosecutors are striving to transform prosecutorial discretion from a tool of mass incarceration to a tool of reform. DA Rollins’ commitment to diverting certain offenses away from the criminal legal system is a promising example of the role progressive prosecutors can play in decriminalizing mental health, substance use disorders, food and housing insecurities, and in reimagining our criminal legal system.

We also invite you to listen and participate as we engage DA Rollins on the growing concerns among HLS and the greater Boston community about her office’s recent prosecutions following the sweeps and arrests at “Mass and Cass,” a community of unhoused people in Boston. We look forward to engaging with DA Rollins on how she grapples with the complexities of progressive prosecution. Please register here.
