2018 ACS Texas Regional Convening: Getting Radical in the South

University of Texas School of Law, Austin, TX

Join Getting Radical in the South (GRITS) and the Austin Lawyer Chapter and the University of Texas School of Law Student Chapter of the American Constitution Society for the 2018 ACS Texas Regional Convening: Getting Radical in the South. The event will be a student-run public interest law conference focused on the difficulties and constraints inherent to social justice work in the South, as well as the unique strategies legal practitioners and other public interest workers have developed to meet those needs.

The conference emphasizes innovative, progressive, and even radical approaches to building community among students, practitioners, and community activists in the South to bring about social change. It serves as an opportunity for law students, lawyers, and activists to build coalitions, share strategies for progressive lawyering, and develop new approaches for the future.
