Texas Law - Data Centers and Environmental Law

Townes Hall, Room 2.139, Austin, Texas

Texas Law ACS is partnering with the Environmental Law Society (ELS) to host an event focused on the environmental law consequences of data center expansion. The goal of the event is to better understand how the rapid deployment of data infrastructure affects quality of life and natural resources and how legal mechanisms and grassroots organizing can address these challenges.

The panel will feature Jane M. Cohen, Professor at Texas Law (focusing on water rights and policy) and Kelly L. Haragan, Clinical Professor and Director of the Environmental Clinic at Texas Law (focusing on air quality permitting and legal impacts). During the session, attendees will receive information sheets featuring web resources tracking data center expansion and highlighting ongoing community initiatives.

The event will take place in 2.139 Townes Hall. Lunch will be provided.
