UCLA - American Constitution Society National President Phil Brest: Lessons Learned from the Judicial Nomination Process

ACS at UCLA is pleased to welcome ACS National President Phil Brest for a conversation on the federal judicial nominations process. 

Phil brings a rare vantage point to this discussion: he has served as Special Assistant to President Biden and Senior White House Counsel, Chief Nominations Counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee under Senator Durbin (D-IL), and Chief Counsel to Senator Feinstein (D-CA). 

Phil spent his career at the center of the judicial confirmation process before he was named ACS President last year. He will discuss how the federal judiciary is shaped, where the nominations process stands today, his experience helping nominees navigate that process, and how ACS can help connect students with opportunities for clerkships and externships.
