Texas Law - Dismantling the Department of Education

This event will feature Jim Walsh, a local practitioner with extensive experience representing school districts in matters related to disability rights. Walsh will speak about the Trump Administration's decision to transfer special education oversight from the Department of Education to HHS, the scope of interagency collaboration, and the broader push to dismantle the Department of Education entirely. After Walsh's remarks, he will take questions from students. 

The event will be cosponsored by the Law School Disability and Neurodivergent Alliance (LSDNA). It will take place in a large 1L classroom in Townes Hall. Lunch will be provided.
