Join the American Constitution Society for a lunchtime conversation with Cal Barnette-Mayotte (Penn Carey Law ’22), Moushmi Patil (Penn Carey Law ’22), and Carson Turner (Penn Carey Law ’25) about judicial clerkships, appellate practice, and their paths after law school. Cal recently completed a clerkship with Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson on the U.S. Supreme Court, Moushmi completed a clerkship on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, and Carson completed a clerkship on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. 

The conversation will explore their experiences in chambers, the role of federal law clerks, and the different paths that can lead to appellate and Supreme Court clerkships. They will also share practical advice for students interested in pursuing clerkships, including how to approach law school, applications, and the clerkship process.

The event will conclude with an open Q&A, giving students the opportunity to ask candid questions about clerking, appellate practice, and building a career after Penn Carey Law. Lunch will be provided.
