Visit with Judge Phyllis Frye - The First Transgender Judge in U.S. History

ACS and OUTlaw at UHLC is excited to host Judge Phyllis Frye, the first transgender judge in US history, in celebration of Trans Visibility Day!

Judge Frye will be visiting to share her experiences as an openly transgender law student at UHLC, her career as a trial attorney, and her time as a judge here in Harris County. Judge Frye has paved the way for transgender rights, legal recognition of transgender individuals, and transgender representation in our judicial system. We are honored to host her in celebration of Trans Visibility Day to remind us that our transgender community has always been here, and will remain!
