The Future of the Colorado River: Law, Governance, and Scarcity

Arizona State University, Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, BCLS 644, Phoenix, Arizona

With negotiators still working toward a long-term agreement on the management of the Colorado River, questions surrounding water governance in the Basin are more urgent than ever. In this ACS event, Professor Rhett Larson will examine the legal and institutional framework that governs the River, including the mechanics of water rights adjudications, the division of authority between federal and state actors, and the administrative tools available to address prolonged scarcity. Lunch will be provided!
