WashU Law: How to Get Involved in Your Community - Leveraging Your Legal Training and Skills
ACS and the National Lawyers Guild will co-host a panel discussion on how local government works and how residents can meaningfully engage with institutions in their own communities.
Professors Jonathan Smith and Danielle D’Onfro will discuss the structure and function of local government, practical pathways for civic participation, and how law students can use their legal training and skills to contribute to neighborhood cultural, economic, and institutional development.
This conversation is designed to provide students with concrete tools for community engagement and to explore how legal education can support meaningful local advocacy.
