What's on the Ballot: the Rule of Law and the Midterm Elections

Please join ACS for a moderated discussion of serious and continuing threats to the rule of law as Americans get ready to go to the polls and vote on November 6th. Throughout the last two years, the domestic rule of law and the international order have come under sustained attack by officials at the highest levels of the U.S. government, including the President. Penn Law Professor Jean Galbraith will examine changes in the influence and legitimacy of international institutions and law over the last two years, and consider ways those changes have been influenced by Congress with an eye toward what students can look for when making choices during the midterm elections. Penn Law Professor and Deputy Dean Tobias Wolff will discuss domestic threats to the rule of law, including attacks on the independence of the judiciary and law enforcement and the legitimacy of government-administered initiatives like elections and the census.
