Immigration Law & Policy in 2019

ACS, ALSA, and HLSA will be hosting an event called Immigration Law & Policy in 2019 on Thursday, February 21, at noon in Room G. Lunch provided! 

There will be two panelists - Monica Khant and Sujata Winfield. Monica Khant is the Executive Director of GAIN, the Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network. Ms. Khant oversees, supervises, trains and mentors pro bono attorneys who represent immigrant victims of violence and asylum seekers. Sujata Winfield graduated from Georgia Law and is based right here in Athens, where she established her own private immigration practice. The event will focus on both Monica’s and Sujata’s careers as well as their current practices, and how the practice of immigration law has evolved through law and policy changes.
