American Constitution Society Welcomes William Lutz as its New Vice President of Communications

Washington, DC — The American Constitution Society (ACS) today announced that William Lutz has joined the organization as it new Vice President of Communications. Mr. Lutz joins ACS on the heels of a stint as Senior Director of Communications at Families USA during the 2017 legislative battle over repeal of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

“We are delighted to have someone with Wil’s talent and experience join our team,” said ACS President Caroline Fredrickson. “He has worked on so many of the issues that are at the core of ACS’ mission and we are excited to have him at the helm of our communications department as many of those issues come under increasing attack.”

Mr. Lutz has nearly two decades of communications experience in the D.C. nonprofit community. Prior to joining ACS and his work at Families USA, Mr. Lutz served as the Communications Director for Defenders of Wildlife, one of the nation’s premier wildlife conservation organizations, during numerous legislative battles over key environmental protections. Mr. Lutz also served as Communications Director with NARAL Pro-choice America and has done contract work for several organizations including MSHC Partners, GMMB, and Food Policy Action.

“This is a critical time in our country. Many of our most basic freedoms are threatened as never before. ACS is at the forefront of the effort to protect those freedoms for future generations and I am thrilled to join their highly talented team,” said Lutz. “Right now, ACS’s mission is more important than ever, and I am very excited to be a part of it.”
