In a recent interview with Sidebar, a podcast by Courthouse News, ACS President Russ Feingold discusses how the events on 9/11 led to an enduring debate over government surveillance powers.

"The problem is that, because of political gamesmanship and exploitation of the moment, we ended up with the USA PATRIOT Act which was really a very bad piece of legislation, not well considered and in many respects, having nothing to do with terrorism. It was just opportunism."
