The Hill: How to pick up the pace on confirming liberal judges
ACS President Russ Feingold authored an op-ed in The Hill explaining how the White House and Senate can increase the pace of judicial confirmations. While the number of confirmations by the Biden administration recently surpassed the pace of the previous administration, Feingold notes that a recent slow-down positions the administration to fall behind once more and cites several possible measures that can allow the Senate to speed up confirmations.
"The White House and Senate are sending the message that judicial confirmations are a “nice-to-have” and not a “need-to-have.” In a country increasingly being shaped by the courts, this is not the right attitude to take. The Biden administration and the Senate need to treat judicial confirmations like the necessity they are."
