Expert Briefing on Police Use of Force Against Communities of Color


On Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, ACS hosted a conference call discussing the legal and structural reforms necessary to reset the framework within which police operate. Kami Chavis, associate dean for research and public engagement and director of the criminal justice program, Wake Forest University School of Law and Tracey Meares, Walton Hale Hamilton Professor of Law, Yale Law School and member of the President's Task Force on 21st Century Policing, examined how to keep people safe from police use of excessive force while still ensuring that police can do their jobs.
