Join ACS and Jenner & Block for a discussion on current issues in constitutional law and the transition between private practice and public service with Ian Gershengorn and Rachel Alpert on Tuesday, February 17 at 12:30 p.m. in Pound 101. Gershengorn formerly served as acting Solicitor General of the United States and Alpert served as chief counsel of the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Attendees estimated to be 50.
The event will give undergraduate and law students a structured opportunity to write to their legislators. Undergraduates will also hear from a panel of law students about their paths to law school, day-to-day experiences, and advice for law school.
Notre Dame Law School's ACS chapter will host Walter Jean-Jaques, Mary Rofaeil and Janae Longenecker for a lunch event on working as a judicial clerk. Lunch will be provided.
This will be our general body meeting, where we’ll connect with organization members, share updates on upcoming events, discuss the elections interest form, and highlight relevant career opportunities.
Five years following the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021, our panelists (Former Investigative Counsels to the January 6th Committee, Marcus Childress and Sandeep Prasanna, and Senior Advisor and former Chief of Staff to Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi, Terri McCullough) will reflect on their experience living through and investigating January 6th and contemplate the growing threat of political violence in America.
