Career Panel: Alternate Ways Students Can Utilize JD Degrees to Impact Policy
ACS at Stetson Law partnered with the Future Lawyers for Advocacy and Philanthropy will be hosting a career panel to show students alternate ways they can use their JD to impact policy. We will be hosting guest speaker Devon Ombres who works for the Center for American Progress as Senior Director for Courts and Legal Policy, was a Hill staffer for ten years, and is a Stetson alumnus to discuss how he became a staffer and his work in policy. Two other panelists have been invited to discuss their work in nonprofit litigation as well as serving on the board for nonprofit organizations. The event will be open to 40 attendees. Dinner will be provided. Zoom link will be released shortly for those who wish to attend online.

They'll be discussing some of the most interesting cases from their podcast, and we will learn more about the process of distilling complex legal issues into digestible, interesting stories for the average listener. Afterwards, they will join a group of students for a private lunch.
