Food Drive for Our Neighbors Losing SNAP Benefits

With the government shutdown, SNAP recipients are expected to have their benefits cut off. We are in a position to lend a helping hand by donating non-perishable food to local food banks.

The American Constitution Society (ACS) will be collecting donations Wednesday, Nov. 5, and Thursday, Nov. 6, during the lunch hours in the Law School Lobby.

Donation options:

Drop off non-perishable food items

Contribute online to help purchase food

All donations will go toward food pantries in Detroit.

Immigrant Defense with the Detroit People's Assembly

As the Trump administration has ramped up its assault on the immigrant community, people across the country are asking how they can keep their neighbors safe and how to defend against ICE raids. In Detroit, the People’s Assembly was formed to answer those questions. Join the American Constitution Society for a Lunch and Learn with the Detroit People’s Assembly who will educate us about their work and how we as law students and members of the Detroit community can assist in defending our neighbors against ICE. Lunch will be served.

Secrets of the Killing State

Please join the Criminal Law Society and American Constitution Society in hosting Corinna Lain, a S.D. Valena Beety, Professor at Indiana University Maurer School of Law, will help guide the conversation with Professor Lain.
