This Saturday (10/2), ACS is joining the Rally for Abortion Justice in raising our voices for reproductive rights.

We are marching because the Supreme Court’s recent decision to allow Texas to essentially ban abortion cannot go unanswered. The Court disregarded nearly fifty years of precedent, allowing a “flagrantly unconstitutional” abortion ban to go into effect, ahead of their revisiting of Roe v. Wade this fall when it hears Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health.

We are marching because the Texas ban on abortion is already having devastating effects on pregnant people in the state, particularly people of color and people without the economic means to travel across state lines.

We are marching because other states are poised to ban abortion and we can no longer assume that the Court will protect the constitutional rights of the people of those states.

We are marching because the Supreme Court is failing to fulfill its most basic responsibility: to uphold constitutional rights and judicial norms. We are confronting a reality where our highest court is hostile to reproductive rights.

We are marching because abortion care is healthcare, and every pregnant person has the right to decide what is best for them.

Thank you to everyone who has already made plans to join a march near you. For those who haven’t signed up, you can find the nearest march by going to womensmarch.com.

If you haven’t already, make sure to also check out episode 14 of our Broken Law podcast to learn more about how we can save reproductive rights. Spoiler alert, it’s through collective action.
