Youth in Custody: A Look at the Effect of St Louis' Pre-Trial Detention Policies

SLU LAW, Room 1166, St. Louis, MO

This event will take place at noon on Nov. 7 in Scott Hall room 1166.

In November 2013, the DOJ launched an investigation into the administration of juvenile justice at the Family Court in St. Louis County regarding Disproportionate Minority Contact. Ultimately, the DOJ and Family Court entered an agreement designed to protect the constitutional rights and the best interests of juveniles in St. Louis County.

Bradley Wing, Ph.D., research and data manager of St. Louis County Circuit Court, will present data and outcomes of the efforts made through the collaboration of DOJ and Family Court, from 2015 through present. This presentation includes aspects of federal and constitutional law enforcement, local systems change, juvenile justice and criminal law. All are encouraged to attend.

This event is sponsored by SLU LAW's American Constitution Society, Criminal Law Society and Street Law. Food will be provided.
