Baher Azmy is the Legal Director of the Center for Constitutional Rights, where he oversees litigation advancing civil and human rights. He has litigated major cases involving government surveillance, discriminatory policing, the rights of Guantánamo detainees, and accountability for torture and other human rights abuses. Before joining CCR, Azmy was a professor at Seton Hall University School of Law, where he taught constitutional law and directed the Civil Rights and Constitutional Litigation Clinic. He received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from NYU School of Law, where he was a Root-Tilden-Snow Public Interest Scholar.
