The Trump Impeachment and the Supreme Court Vacancy with Michael Gerhardt

The ACS UNC Student Chapter is proud to host Professor Michael Gerhardt as he reflects on his testimonial experience in the Trump impeachment hearings, and offers insight into the current Supreme Court vacancy, and the implications of these events on the future of constitutional law.

Professor Michael Gerhardt is a Burton Craige Distinguished Professor of Jurisprudence at UNC School of Law. In addition to his breadth of academic accomplishments, Professor Gerhardt has testified to Congress over 20 times. Most notably, Professor Gerhardt was a joint witness in the Clinton impeachment proceedings and a testifying constitutional scholar in the Trump impeachment hearings.

Further, Professor Gerhardt has served as special counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee, receiving firsthand experience on the process behind Supreme Court nominations.
