The Future of Policing: Alternatives and Reforms


Join us for a discussion with community advocates about reforms and alternatives to policing. Speakers will discuss both personal experiences and advocacy work related to policing impacts on disadvantaged populations as well what must be done to make our communities safer for everyone. John Fullenwider co-founder of mothers Against police brutality a life-long advocate for the homeless and victims of pollution in Dallas has testified before the US House of Representative House sub-committee on Housing and community development. Maggie Luna Fellow at the Texas Center for justice and Equity, a nonpartisan non-for profit organization focused on policy solutions to end mass incarceration's in Texas. Luna Coordinates the State wide leadership council to create advocacy opportunities for system-impacted Texans. Her passion for change is fueled by her own experiences with incarceration .
