The Flores Exhibit

The ACS Marquette Student Chapter is excited to partner with the Marquette Immigration Law Association and the ACS Madison Lawyer Chapter for a virtual event, The Flores Exhibit. This event will take place via Teams on Wednesday, October 7th at 6:00 p.m.

The Flores Exhibit shares the stories of children and young adults held in detention centers along the U.S. border with Mexico. At the event next Wednesday, we will be showcasing three of these stories in order to bring awareness to the struggles of those detained at the border and show how U.S. immigration policy negatively impacts the children and young adults detained in immigration detention centers.

We will also get the chance to hear from Adjunct Professor, Joseph Rivas about the legal backdrop and explanation of the U.S. immigration policies regarding the detention centers at the border. He will also answer any questions submitted via the Teams chat, the MILA and/or ACS Instagram stories, and the Google form below. Be sure to follow @marquette_immigration and @acsmarquette to ask questions once the stories are posted or DM your questions to either account.

If you are interested in attending this virtual event, please complete the Google form and an email with the link and/or invite to access the virtual event via Teams will be sent to you.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions to myself or MILA president, Ruby DeLeón (ruby.deleon@marquette.edu). Thank you and we hope to “see” you there!
